Barcelona are in advanced talks with Fenerbahçe to sign Croatia international Dominik Livakovic this summer, Marca reports.

The club are planning for Wojciech Szczesny’s departure when his contract expires at the end of the coming season. Joan Garcia and Szczesny are expected to rotate this term, with a third-choice promoted from the reserves.

No final agreement has been reached. The fee could be between three and five million euros, with a push to conclude before the window closes on one September.

Livakovic is not expected to join the first-team squad immediately, as a loan is being considered to protect his minutes this season.

The plan targets 2027-28, when Szczesny’s deal ends. Livakovic would then stay as understudy to Joan Garcia, who is expected to become number one. The Croatia international, a starter at the last World Cup, fits a strategy shaped by sporting director Deco.
