For many years, Barcelona have kept a keen eye on the South American market, and doing so has worked well for them. Thus, it’s no surprise that they are still following developments, and they have started to identify new targets across the continent.

Brazil is undoubtedly the country where there is most focus, given that it’s one of the best in the world for emerging talents. Over the years, Barcelona have signed the likes of Neymar Junior and Vitor Roque from there, and joining them in making the switch to Catalonia could be Eduardo Conceiçao.

According to Manchester Evening News and Globoesporte (via MD), Barcelona are one of several clubs interested in Conceiçao. The 16-year-old, who plays as a winger, is considered to be one of the best talents in Brazilian football right now, and he aims to follow in the footsteps of Endrick and Estevao in swapping Palmeiras for Europe’s elite.

As well as Barcelona, Conceiçao has also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, while Real Madrid are also mentioned as having kept tabs on him in the past. Thus, it is very likely that he joins one of the top clubs in Europe if/when he does leave Palmeiras.

Palmeiras asking for €50m to sell Conceiçao

It is very likely that Conceiçao does end up leaving Palmeiras during the 2027 winter transfer window when he turns 18, although the Brazilian giants are determined to get a big fee before letting him go. The report notes that their asking price is €50m, which is very steep for a player that is yet to make his senior debut.

Given that Barcelona already have a surplus of wingers, which they have since added to with Jesse Bisiwu, spending big on Conceiçao would not make much sense. However, it remains to be seen whether that is the club’s stance by the time offers start going in for the teenage talent.
