Barcelona consider Hansi Flick’s contract renewal all but secured – report | OneFootball

Hansi Flick led FC Barcelona to another La Liga title on Sunday night, making it two in a row since taking over the reins at the club back in 2024.

The German tactician has had a huge impact at the club since replacing Xavi Hernandez as manager and has now won five trophies in total in his two seasons.

Naturally, Barça are eager to prolong his stay at the Spotify Camp Nou for as long as possible, and talks over a new deal have been taking place for a while now.

Renewal virtually secured

Now, according to SPORT, Barcelona consider Flick’s continuity to be practically on track, and developments could even arrive as early as next week.

This comes after a meeting took place between the Catalans’ sporting director, Deco, and superagent Pini Zahavi.

While the main objective of the meeting was to discuss the future of Robert Lewandowski, talks were also held about Flick’s renewal and the final touches needed to seal it for good.

Barcelona are extremely pleased with Flick’s work, his attitude, and especially the transformation he has brought to the team in a very short time.

There is no rush, and all parties maintain an excellent relationship, and a renewal is all but secured at this point.

However, the coach himself will set the timing of the announcement, especially after the deeply painful personal loss of his father yesterday.

Flick’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027 and the new deal is expected to take him until 2028 with an option for an additional twelve months.
