Barcelona have made contact with Harry Kane’s representatives to explore the possibility of bringing the England captain to the Camp Nou after the 2026 World Cup, per the Daily Mail.

Barcelona have contacted his camp to gauge whether a transfer could become possible after the summer showpiece.

The Catalan giants are understood to have expressed their interest before agreeing to revisit the situation once Kane’s international commitments are over.

The Bayern Munich striker will have just one year remaining on his contract by that stage, prompting Barcelona to assess whether they can finance one of the biggest deals of the summer.

Kane is said to be extremely happy in Bavaria, and Bayern have no desire to entertain offers for their star forward.

Reports claim the striker’s representatives shut down the initial approach.

They are more interested in discussions over a new contract with the Bundesliga champions after the tournament.

For now, Kane’s focus remains entirely on England’s World Cup campaign.

Thomas Tuchel’s side face DR Congo in the last 32 on Wednesday, with the 32-year-old already scoring three goals after an astonishing 61-goal haul in 51 appearances for Bayern last term.

Barcelona are searching for a new leading striker following Robert Lewandowski’s departure and are prepared to push hard for Kane if they receive any encouragement.

Kane has continued to cement his status as one of the modern great forwards, scoring 70 goals for club and country this season.

Only Lionel Messi’s extraordinary 2011/12 campaign has produced more goals among players in Europe’s top five leagues this century.

Kane has also become England’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer with 11 strikes.

Even if Barcelona return with renewed determination next summer, prising Kane away from Bayern will be an entirely different challenge.

The German champions are unlikely to entertain negotiations for the striker they regard as the cornerstone of their project, particularly after watching him transform their attack.

If Barcelona felt that Atletico Madrid went overboard to keep Julian Alvarez, Bayern will dig in harder. Convincing Bayern to sell could prove close to impossible.
