Barcelona fully aware as forward makes positive progress in talks with PSG | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain have made Ferran Torres one of their transfer priorities and have already taken concrete steps toward signing the Barcelona forward.

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, PSG’s interest goes well beyond initial enquiries. Negotiations are already at an advanced stage, and there is an excellent relationship between the French club and the player.

Barcelona are fully aware of the situation surrounding Ferran, who remains under contract until 2027.

Talks ongoing for days

Recent reports claimed that PSG were interested in Ferran and that the Spanish international would not be opposed to a move after the World Cup. However, the reality is further along than initially believed.

Luis Enrique’s side have been in discussions with the player for several days, with the intention of completing the transfer once the World Cup concludes.

Ferran did not dismiss the rumours

Shortly before Spain began their World Cup campaign, Ferran was asked about speculation surrounding his future.

Rather than dismissing the possibility of leaving Barcelona, he avoided giving a direct answer.

Earlier, when questioned about his future, a possible contract renewal, and PSG’s interest, he responded:

“I don’t know anything about PSG and I’m not interested.”

At the time, those comments could easily be interpreted as the words of a player focused solely on Spain’s World Cup opener.

However, the progress of the ongoing negotiations now suggests that a transfer has become a realistic possibility.

Barcelona’s summer plans

Barcelona have already strengthened their squad this summer with the signing of Anthony Gordon and are still expected to officially announce the arrival of Karim Adeyemi.

The club’s sporting department also continues to prioritize the signing of Julian Alvarez as its main attacking target.

Having already lost Robert Lewandowski and now staring at the possibility of losing Ferran as well, it will be interesting to see whether Hansi Flick & co. opt to try and sign another attacker beyond their ongoing pursuit of Alvarez.

Alternatively, Deco could decide to continue with the current setup, given that the likes of Gordon, Adeyemi, as well as Dani Olmo are versatile enough to operate through the middle in attack.

What seems certain at this point is that Ferran is in active, positive discussions with PSG and could end up securing a move away from Barcelona.
