Barcelona make contact over deal for AC Milan star | OneFootball

The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have touched base with their counterparts at AC Milan, over a potential deal for Rafael Leão.

This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana maintain an ongoing interest in bringing the Portuguese to the Spotify Camp Nou for next season.

Wide-man Leão has of course been linked with a move to Barcelona for several years running.

Heading into the current transfer window, it was suggested that the interest of the Spanish champions had waned, particularly with a deal for Anthony Gordon having already been tied up.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Italy is anything to go by, then Deco and co. have not yet completely thrown in the towel on their Leão pursuit.

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport:

‘Barça have made inquiries about the conditions of departure of the powerful wide player, along with Manchester United, Tottenham and some Saudi Arabian clubs.’

It is also noted, however, that the Camp Nou brass have not ‘gone any further’ than an initial inquiry.
