Barcelona ready to part ways with five players before transfer window closes | OneFootball

The final month of the summer transfer window will be busy for Barcelona, as they set their sights on signings and exits. At the very least, the Catalans hope to bring in Joao Cancelo alongside a new striker, but more additions could be sought if they sell players that are no longer counted on by head coach Hansi Flick.

Flick has already ruled on several players in his squad that he would be happy to see go, and this has been relayed by sporting director Deco, who will be tasked with securing possible exits. As per MD, there are five candidates for departure, although some of them are more likely to leave than others.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the player closest to an exit at this stage. An agreement has already been reached between Barcelona and Ajax, but tax arrangements are the reason that he has not yet travelled to Amsterdam – instead, he’s with Flick’s squad for their pre-season camp in England.

Next on the list is Marc Casado. The midfielder has been strongly linked with an exit this summer, and while Barcelona are happy for him to leave despite Frenkie de Jong being out long-term with a knee injury, they have upped their asking price in recent weeks, which could make a sale less likely. Roony Bardghji can also leave, knowing that he has been replaced by recent signing Karim Adeyemi, who will be Lamine Yamal’s understudy on the right side of attack.

Finally, Barcelona are open to hearing offer for Alejandro Balde and Ronald Araujo. The former will be relegated to backup left-back when Cancelo arrives, while the latter is not seen as one of Flick’s main men in the centre of defence – his exit would also allow a replacement to be signed, with Cristian Romero being one of the options at this stage.

It remains to be seen how many of the five end up leaving Barcelona before the summer transfer window closes, but there are many chances for them to move on.
