The UEFA Champions League league phase is now underway. PSG will begin their title defense on September 17 against Atalanta, with an early standout matchup set for October 1 when they take on FC Barcelona.
Both clubs had been on track to meet in last season’s Champions League final. However, Barcelona fell to Inter Milan in the semifinals, clearing the way for PSG to claim a decisive victory over the Italian side.
While it’s not the final, fans will finally get to see PSG face off against Barcelona. On top of that, the Spanish club reportedly received some bad news ahead of the clash on where this game will be played.

Roger Torelló of Mundo Deportivo reports that it looks like Barcelona vs. PSG will take place at Montjuïc.
The challenge with opening Spotify Camp Nou to 27,000 spectators for a Champions League match is managing rival fans. UEFA rules prohibit mixing visiting fans with home supporters, and Barça cannot guarantee proper separation of rival fans in Phase 1A.
This information comes after Jose Alvarez Haya of El Chiringuito TV reported on Sunday that PSG will face Barcelona at Camp Nou next month. Nonetheless, it appears that will not be the case.
