Barcelona have entered the final 30 days of the window without signing a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, amid noise over a possible PSG offer for Ferran Torres. According to Superdeporte, the club are not unsettled by the prospect.
Barcelona’s recent run under Hansi Flick has featured two centre forwards across five trophy wins. They are nonetheless confident in the options to bridge the lack of a Lewandowski deputy, including Ferran, Dani Olmo and the promising Hamza Abdelkarim. Staff also see new arrivals Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi as capable of operating through the middle.
The club are unaware of any PSG interest in Ferran and the player has not asked to leave. He is under contract until 2027 and Barcelona plan to offer a new deal, while he will be free to negotiate in December. His status as a World Cup goalscorer and the need for a proven striker also frame the situation.
Hansi Flick wants, and expects, Ferran to stay, though he is waiting to see how events unfold. He has avoided contacting the forward to respect his holidays and will take stock when Spain’s internationals report back on the 12th.
Even so, Flick is less settled about the attack than other departments, despite surpluses among the 17 academy players at his disposal. Four of those are defenders who have already debuted for him in competitive games. The back line is doubled in every slot, with Eric Garcia covering right back alongside Jules Kounde, and João Cancelo’s return agreed in principle to share left back with Alejandro Balde.
