A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona looks set to be forced to sit out each of the club’s next five fixtures across all competitions.
That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Gavi as the player in question.
Youngster Gavi for his part set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital late last month.
This came after word was forthcoming that the 21-year-old had picked up an injury problem in the same knee in which he previously tore the ACL.
Ensuing reports assured that the issue was not a serious one, with no real cause for concern.
But as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media late this week is anything to go by, the injury, in fact, is more significant than first thought…
As per a report from Diario AS:
‘Although Flick pulled out the optimism in a press conference, assuring that the plan was to get Gavi back for the Valencia game, right now the focus is a little further ahead, with the PSG game on October 1 as the main objective.’
This scenario would see Gavi miss Barcelona’s next five fixtures across all competitions, against Valencia, Newcastle United, Getafe, Real Oviedo and Real Sociedad.
