Barcelona star “has no shortage of offers” as summer exit looms | OneFootball

Before the summer transfer window closes at the end of the month, a number of players are expected to leave Barcelona. Marc Casado and Ferran Torres have both been linked with moves away, but the one that is closest to the exit door is Roony Bardghji.

The signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have pushed Bardghji down the pecking order at Barcelona, to the point where the Sweden international will not see much football if he sticks around. Thus, the decision has been made for him to depart, with the likelihood being a permanent deal is sought – although one will only be sanctioned if Barcelona are able to secure a significant sell-on clause and/or a buy-back option, as they want to retain control over his future.

In recent weeks, Bardghji has been linked with several clubs, with the most recent being Sporting CP. According to Diario AS, there are “no shortage of offers” for the winger, thus making an exit almost certain before the summer transfer window closes.

Bardghji exit makes sense for all parties

Barcelona signed Bardghji last summer as a market opportunity after paying €2-3m to FC Copenhagen, and the likelihood is that they will receive much more than that when a deal goes through in the coming weeks. Selling him now, while still retaining control over his future, is the smart move, given that his value would only depreciate if he were to remain at the club as a fringe player.

It will be very interesting to see where Bardghji ends up. It’s important that he joins a club where he can play as a regular starter, but the level must also be one where he has the best chance of continuing to develop into a player that could be an option for Barcelona in the future.
