Barcelona ‘to consider’ Mourinho-coached Andreas Schjelderup if Rashford deal does not happen | OneFootball

International coverage has focused on Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup, who has progressed under Mourinho, with Barcelona’s interest drawing fresh attention.

Sport reports that the 21-year-old featured on its cover and is highly rated at Barcelona, who are increasingly minded to pursue a possible move. The paper says he has been on their radar since a 5-4 win over Benfica at Estádio da Luz.

The report adds that Schjelderup is viewed by the Joan Laporta-led hierarchy as an alternative if a deal for Marcus Rashford does not materialise, with the Englishman only on loan from Manchester United.

There has been no formal confirmation from Barcelona. In an interview with TV2, Schjelderup did not hide his enthusiasm at the possibility of such interest being genuine.

This season Schjelderup has made 36 appearances for Benfica, 21 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 2,014 minutes he has recorded seven goals and four assists, with a current valuation of €14 million.
