Barcelona will face off against two of the club’s loan stars in Elche clash | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona are preparing to face off with a pair of altogether familiar faces in the club’s next outing.

This comes with two members of Hansi Flick’s squad from last season having linked up with Elche during the summer.

First up is Iñaki Peña, who has spent recent weeks establishing himself as an increasingly prominent figure between the posts at The Estadio Martínez Valero.

After penning a new Barcelona contract earlier this year, shot-stopper Peña joined Elche on loan for the duration of the campaign.

And the Spaniard was joined by another Blaugrana star in swapping Catalunya’s capital for Alicante.

Héctor Fort also made the call to depart his long-term home in Barcelona for Elche during the summer transfer window.

This came with a view to securing more regular playing time at senior level.

And though his efforts towards as much have thus far not been helped by injury problems, the young full-back is expected to be available to play his part against his parent club on Sunday.
