FC Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker this summer, and it is clear that the position in question is their priority for this transfer window. At the moment, Julian Alvarez seems to be their priority, and the club is working on a solution for that particular operation.
However, a recent update from the Daily Mail claims that the Catalan giants are also exploring a potential move for English star Harry Kane this summer. The 32-year-old Bayern Munich striker is currently occupied with the ongoing FIFA World Cup, but it seems that Barça have already made first contact.
According to the report, the Catalan giants have already reached out to the representatives of the player in the hopes of figuring out whether or not a move is possible. Unfortunately, the player’s camp have shut down the conversation for now but may reassess the situation after the World Cup concludes.
Currently enjoying a sensational season with both club and country, Kane has scored 61 goals in 51 appearances already. Moreover, he already has three goals in the World Cup so far and is now looking to lead England against DR Congo in the Round of 32 as well.
As for Barcelona, they remain interested in the player and this particular report even claims that they are willing to go all out for the Bayern Munich striker if there is any indication that a deal is possible. However, as of right now, there seems to be no guarantee that they will go ahead with this operation.
On the other hand, Atletico Madrid seem to have a price in mind for Julian Alvarez. However, given how expensive that entire operation could get, it is understandable as to why Barça is preferring to take some time to assess and evaluate the best course of action.
