Barreal reached 13 goals for Santos to become the club’s seventh-highest foreign scorer, netting in the 3-1 win over Vitória at Vila Belmiro on Saturday 30 in the Brasileirão’s 18th round.

As reported by Diario Do Peixe, the Argentine has reached a notable landmark for the club.

It was his fourth goal of the year in 29 appearances. He has also scored this season against Fluminense and Chapecoense in the league, and Guarani in the Paulistão.

Santos signed the number 22 permanently for 4 million dollars this year after his loan from FC Cincinnati ended. He made 40 appearances last season, scoring nine times.

Born in Buenos Aires, Álvaro Martín Barreal is 25. He began at Velez Sarsfield, registering one goal in 18 matches, before joining FC Cincinnati in 2020, where he played 121 games with 19 goals and 24 assists. He spent 2024 on loan at Cruzeiro, playing 42 times with two goals and four assists.

The club’s all-time list of foreign scorers has Sanchez top on 32, followed by Copete on 26 and Soteldo on 21.
