Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly rejected Ipswich Town’s second bid for Exequiel Palacios, Kicker reports.

Earlier on Monday, Fabrizio Romano said Ipswich were optimistic about a deal after lodging a second offer for the midfielder.

That proposal was understood to be only marginally above their initial €20 million approach, and it did not meet Leverkusen’s valuation.

Ipswich would need to return with a higher third bid if they are to move negotiations forward.

Palacios is reportedly keen on a switch to the Premier League.
