According to Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen would like to loan Eliesse Ben Seghir back to Monaco, with any move dependent on his fitness.

The 20-year-old was with Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The hosts and finalists saw him make some impact, but he sustained a fresh ankle injury during the competition.

Monaco are seeking clarity on how long the ankle problem will sideline their former player. If he is cleared to play within a few weeks, they would be happy to take him on a six-month loan.

Signed by Leverkusen for €32m, the attacking midfielder has yet to make an impression in the Bundesliga, in part due to recurring public bone problems.

Whether the short-term return happens will hinge on medical clearance in the coming weeks.
