Bayern Munich marked their 35th Bundesliga crown with a 4-2 win over VfB Stuttgart on Sunday, then donned championship shirts featuring a cockatoo.

"He already dominated last year's celebrations, and now he's had to wait a long time for us to let him out of his cage again," Leon Goretzka said after the match, according to Bundesliga.com, as he carried the mascot onto the pitch.

"But as soon as we win another trophy, he'll be allowed out to mark the moment with us."

The cockatoo motif traces back to last season, when Bayern celebrated their league title at Munich restaurant Käfer and jokingly took a porcelain cockatoo home. Since then, the owner has handed the team their lucky charm, which returned to the pitch during Sunday’s festivities.

With Bayern having reached the semi-finals of both the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League, Goretzka and team-mates will be hoping for more good omens from their lucky bird.
