Bayern confirm Tom Bischof to take over Leon Goretzka's number | OneFootball

Bayern have confirmed Tom Bischof will wear the number eight from the 2026/27 season, taking over Leon Goretzka’s shirt.

According to BuLi News, the midfielder had the number 20 in his debut campaign at Bayern.

Goretzka departs at the end of his contract after an eight-year stay. Bischof joined Vincent Kompany’s side in the special FIFA transfer window for the Club World Cup last summer.

He made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring three and assisting three. Julian Nagelsmann did not select the 21-year-old for Germany’s World Cup squad.

Bischof was a Fritz Walter Golden medallist at U19 level while at Hoffenheim. He has only previously worn number eight in 2021/22 with Hoffenheim U19.
