Bayern Munich reportedly fear losing manager Vincent Kompany to Premier League giants Manchester City.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Bayern are desperate to agree a new contract with Kompany.
The Belgian boss will be out of contract at the end of next season. This coincides with the end of Pep Guardiola’s deal at the Etihad Stadium.
The 39-year-old has done an impressive job at the Allianz Arena, with his high-pressing, attacking style of play winning them the Bundesliga title in his debut campaign.
He has also been praised for his man-management skills and for improving key players.
Kompany spent most of his playing career at City, where he scored 20 goals in 360 appearances across all competitions.
The Belgian enjoyed a hugely successful time in Manchester, winning four Premier League titles, four League Cups and two FA Cups.
He transitioned into management after retirement and served as Anderlecht’s manager for two seasons.
Kompany later joined Burnley and guided them to Premier League promotion with a record-breaking tally of 101 points. But he failed to keep them in the English top-flight the following season.
Many people were unconvinced when Bayern appointed Kompany last year, but he proved his doubters wrong by winning the title in his first season.
