According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are close to agreeing extensions with Anísio Cabral and José Neto until 2031. Understandings with the SAD are virtually in place, with formalisation to follow once both turn 18.
The forward turns 18 on 15 this month, the left-back on 19 April.
Another Seixal dossier is progressing, with Daniel Banjaqui also nearing an agreement, underscoring the club’s push to secure recent breakout talents.
The administration led by Rui Costa aims to keep the nine Seixal products who won the U-17 World Cup for Portugal in November in Qatar. Within that group, Cabral, Neto and Banjaqui have been treated as priorities after being introduced to the first team.
José Mourinho has been influential in these processes. Beyond finances, the youngsters sought assurances over their place in the sporting project in the short, medium and long term, and regular involvement with the senior squad has strengthened that belief.
The youth focus is increasingly evident. Cabral has earned minutes up front and delivered when called upon, Banjaqui has become a more regular option at right-back, while Neto has been used sparingly but remains a leading prospect.
