Benfica ‘to move’ for Resink after Mourinho talks | OneFootball

According to Voetball International, Benfica could be close to an agreement to sign 22-year-old Stije Resink this winter. José Mourinho spoke with the Groningen midfielder last week to outline the club's project and the role planned for him. A deal could be struck for around 6 million euros.

The exchange left Resink positive about the move and he sees Benfica as the right next step in his young career.

Mourinho has told the club's hierarchy he wants Resink, and Benfica have approached Groningen.

Resink has been one of Groningen's standout players this season, featuring in 20 official games, 19 in the Eredivisie and one in the KNVB Beker.

Across 1,800 minutes he has four goals and five assists, and he is valued at 7 million euros.
