Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are reportedly monitoring Luca Pellegrini and could potentially make a move to sign him before the close of the winter transfer window, which would require talks with Juventus.
In a surprise call, Pellegrini was cut from Lazio’s Serie A and Europa League squads this week, despite being a regular in the first-team over the first half of the 2024-25 campaign. The player’s agent has insisted that the call was not due to disciplinary reasons, while Lazio have not provided an official explanation.
Frustrated by the situation, Pellegrini is not currently eligible to play in either the league or in Europe, which means that he could leave the club in the coming days according to Friday’s reports.
The transfer window in Turkiye remains open, and Besiktas are reportedly considering a move for the unwanted 25-year-old.
There had also been interest from Serie A sides Udinese and Como during the January transfer window according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
As the transfer window remains open in Turkiye, Besiktas could still offer Pellegrini an escape route in the next few days.
However, it would reportedly be a fairly complicated negotiation, as Pellegrini is technically still on loan from Juventus.
He joined Lazio with an option to buy, which becomes an obligation under certain sporting conditions, which means that Besiktas would likely need to negotiate with both the Bianconeri and Biancocelesti if they are to get a deal done.
