Besiktas ‘to investigate’ Nottingham Forest terms for Ibrahim Sangare before January | OneFootball

Besiktas are reportedly assessing a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare ahead of the January window, and are exploring what terms Forest might entertain.

Takvim reports that the Istanbul club are plotting January midfield reinforcements and could recruit up to two players, with Sangare’s Premier League experience viewed as an important factor.

The report adds Besiktas are monitoring his situation and that head coach Vincenzo Italiano will have the final say, while Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin is also under consideration.

Besiktas have tracked Sangare before, valuing the Ivory Coast international’s power, ball-winning and defensive work.

Whether Forest would consider a mid-season sale is another matter, as Sangare signed a new deal in July running to 2028.

Oliver Glasner still has options in the position, including Sangare, Xaver Schlager, Nicolas Dominguez, Ryan Yates and James McAtee, and the club may yet look to add in January.

McAtee’s impact in a deeper role reduced the urgency in the summer after Schlager arrived, though Forest tried to do more business and were thwarted in a push for Everton’s Harrison Armstrong.

Sangare has missed the last two Premier League matches with a minor calf issue, was not risked in the 0-0 draw with Tottenham, and could feature at Aston Villa on Saturday.
