Boca’s Alan Velasco ruled out of Estudiantes trip after knee knock | OneFootball

Alan Velasco has been ruled out of Boca’s visit to Estudiantes after taking a blow to his left knee.

He will undergo medical tests to determine the extent of the problem and, according to LaNumer12.com.ar, would have missed the game regardless of the results.

Claudio Úbeda’s staff have promoted reserve winger Gonzalo Gelini to the first team. The wide player signed his first professional contract with Boca a few days ago and could make the squad in La Plata.

Úbeda must now choose Velasco’s replacement. Brian Aguirre is the first option, although he is close to leaving this window and is part of negotiations with Estudiantes for Santiago Ascacibar. If a deal is reached, Aguirre would not play, which could hand an opportunity to Kevin Zenón, while Iker Zufiaurre is another alternative in that role after featuring as a nine against Riestra, a position he does not usually occupy under Mariano Herrón.
