Sean Dyche’s first Premier League match in charge of Nottingham Forest ended in a 2-0 loss at Bournemouth.
Coming off a Europa League win over Porto, the Reds were quickly put on the back foot at the Vitality Stadium.
The opener came in unusual fashion when Marcus Tavernier’s corner looped over goalkeeper Matz Sels and into the net with 25 minutes on the clock.
The Cherries made the lead safe before half-time as Eli Junior Kroupi picked up a loose ball and fired a low, long-range effort into the corner for his fourth goal in three league games.
Forest tried to respond after the break with several substitutions, but chances were few and far between. Morgan Gibbs-White tested Djordje Petrovic late on, only to be denied by a sharp save.
Andoni Iraola's side controlled much of the game, moving up to second in the Premier League, while Forest remain in the relegation zone after six league defeats.
