Brabinhas extend contracts and kick off preparations for the 2026 season

Corinthians has begun preparations for the women's Under-20 squad with an eye on the 2026 season competitions and, alongside on-field work, has advanced in planning for the category. The youth management has secured contract renewals for four athletes who are part of the Brabinhas group and will remain at the club for the continuation of the project.

According to information gathered by Meu Timão, the players who had their contracts extended are goalkeeper Sophia Trindade, 18 years old, defender Brunna Meer, also 18, left-back Emelym, 17, and forward Júlia Romero, also 17 years old. The quartet took part in the pre-season held at Parque São Jorge and remain available to the coaching staff.

Despite the renewals already agreed upon, the new contracts have not yet appeared in the system of the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF). The expectation is that some of the contracts will have a minimum duration of one year, as has happened in recent agreements made by the club in this category.

Another player who was at the end of her contract was midfielder and left-back Mari Barroso, 17 years old. Although she did not appear in the records shared by her teammates, according to information from the page União SCCP, the player was in negotiations with Corinthians at the beginning of January to renew her contract.

On the other hand, the club has also decided on departures from the Under-20 squad. Midfielder Gaby Tomé and forward Rafa Rodrigues, both 19 years old, did not have their contracts renewed. In addition to them, athletes who had already surpassed the age limit for the category and would not be integrated into the professional squad, such as goalkeeper Yasmin, defender Amanda Dias, and forward Ester, also said their goodbyes to the club.

As part of the sporting plan, the Brabinhas already know the path ahead in the Women's Under-20 Brazilian Championship. The alvinegra team is in Group D of the competition, alongside Red Bull Bragantino, Taubaté, and Tarumã-AM. Their debut is scheduled for the round with a base date of March 8, against the team from Amazonas.
