Corinthians have reopened talks to renew left-back Fabrizio Angileri's contract, with the 31-year-old keen to remain and working behind the scenes to help an agreement, according to Globo.com.
The board have offered a contract to the end of 2026. Angileri has not received any offers since leaving the club in December and has been maintaining his fitness with personal trainers.
Head coach Dorival Júnior views him as an important squad option, with Matheus Bidu first choice on the left and Hugo also in the role.
Club officials are in frequent contact with his representatives and talks could progress in the coming days.
Signed last year, Angileri was part of the group that lifted the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil in 2025. He became a free agent when his deal expired in December after no renewal was agreed.
Internally, the board argued the agents' financial demands were beyond the club's means. Angileri has stayed in Argentina with his family awaiting offers that have not arrived.
Without playing and with no imminent move, he approached Corinthians to restart negotiations. The club want him back, but only if the numbers fit their 2026 budget.
