Braga punish Alverca to climb to fourth | OneFootball

Braga thrashed Alverca 5-0 at the Estádio Municipal de Braga to rise from fifth to fourth in Liga Portugal.

Vitor Carvalho opened the scoring in the 17th minute, drilling in from outside the box after a corner.

Rodrigo Zalazar doubled the lead from Ricardo Horta's pass (23.). Pau Victor glanced in a header from Zalazar's through ball (30.).

Gabri Martínez won a penalty (43.). Horta converted from the spot (45.).

After the restart, the changes told and Fran Navarro, on for Horta, tucked in Pau Victor's headed lay-off to complete the scoring (79.).

Braga controlled 68.2% possession and produced 17 attempts, with seven on target. Alverca managed three attempts and did not register a shot on target.

Braga visit Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League next. Alverca host Estrela Amadora next in the league.
