Breno Bidon on his progress and Garro’s support after Corinthians win

After Corinthians’ 3-0 victory over Ponte Preta this Sunday (11), at Neo Química Arena, in the first round of the Campeonato Paulista, midfielder Breno Bidon gave an interview to TNT Sports, in which he spoke about his evolution at the club, adapting his position, support from Rodrigo Garro, and his career goals.

During the interview, Bidon commented on his calmer playing style and how this has been with him since the youth ranks, as well as the importance of the group in his process of maturing within the professional squad.

“Since I was little, even my family used to say I was very calm. Sometimes, they said it even stressed them out a bit, because I was so calm while they got more nervous on game days. I brought that with me my whole life. I believe the group helped me a lot since I moved up to the professional team. Everyone gave me guidance, helped me stay calm so that, when I debuted, I would have the same tranquility I had in training.”

The midfielder also spoke about the increase in responsibility at Corinthians and emphasized the importance of keeping a level head.

“The responsibility is increasing every day within the club. When it comes to Corinthians, we always have to keep our heads in the right place, with humility. That’s the only way to go far.”

Support from Garro and adapting to a new position

Another point addressed by Bidon was his adaptation on the field, especially when he played as a number ten, a role he started to take on more frequently at certain moments last season. According to the player, Rodrigo Garro’s support was fundamental in this process.

“About the position, I feel comfortable being on the field. If I’m playing, that’s what matters to me. Last year I played a lot as a second defensive midfielder and, after Dorival arrived, I started playing more as a number ten. I ended up doing really well at the end of the championship. Garro used to give me a lot of advice before the games, he’d come talk to me, tell me what I could do. He helped me a lot with this position change,” said Breno.

Bidon also highlighted that he constantly pushes himself to be more involved in the game and improve his offensive stats.

“I push myself a lot to get into the box more, provide more assists, and score more goals. I know I need to improve on that and I’ve been working every day, on and off the field, to create those opportunities.”

About the Copa do Brasil play

Asked about the decisive moment in the Copa do Brasil final, the midfielder revealed that he has watched the moment several times and spoke about the improvisation during the play.

“I’ve watched the play about a thousand times already. Just from my dad alone, he sent it to me about five hundred times. At the time, I didn’t even realize what it was. Your mind is so focused on the game. After it ended, everyone came to talk to me, and when I stopped to watch the videos, it was really beautiful. There was a bit of improvisation there in the moment and it worked out really well.”

European dream and focus on Corinthians

Finally, when asked about his career dreams and the desire to play abroad, Breno Bidon stated that his priority is to keep evolving at Corinthians, but he does not hide his ambition to reach Europe and wear the Brazilian National Team jersey.

“Oh, for sure, I dream of playing in Europe, I dream of playing in the Champions League. He said that maybe one day, with a lot of hard work, he’ll be in the National Team, but there’s no such thing as a specific team, my specific team is Corinthians. I wanted to focus here first and then create opportunities abroad. So I believe I have to keep working. It’s definitely my dream. Every player dreams of playing in Europe, of playing in the Champions League. We’ve watched Champions League games since we were kids, so I believe we have to work really hard so that maybe one day we’ll be there,” he concluded.

At just 20 years old, Breno Bidon continues to gain ground in the black-and-white squad and begins the 2026 season as one of Corinthians’ main prospects.
