Grêmio interest in Rodrigo Garro fails to progress | OneFootball

Grêmio explored a move for Rodrigo Garro of Corinthians but efforts did not move forward. The club want to finalise Luis Castro's squad before their 28 January Brasileirão opener at Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Correio do Povo, the player's agent said Grêmio had only expressed interest, and there was no scope for talks to advance.

Corinthians do not intend to negotiate the 28-year-old midfielder, who is seen as a pillar for the 2026 season under Dorival Jr.

Garro joined Corinthians in 2024 from Talleres in Argentina. Fitness issues curtailed his last campaign, the most serious a knee problem that required surgery.

Grêmio remain in the market for a playmaker. Current internal options are the Argentine Cristaldo, the Colombian Monsalve and the young Gabriel Mec from the club's academy.
