Brentford to launch girls’ Academy and enhanced pathway for 2026/27 | OneFootball

Brentford Football Club will introduce a new girls’ Academy as part of an enhanced development pathway for female footballers, marking a significant step forward in the club’s commitment and investment in the women’s and girls’ game.

Following a review of Brentford’s Women’s programme, the club will establish a structured academy system centred on a Junior Premier League games programme, designed to strengthen the pathway from youth level through to the first team, with matches starting this autumn.

The Brentford girls’ Academy, supported by staff from Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, will initially include Under-14s and Under-16s squads competing in the Junior Premier League, providing a high-quality, performance-focused environment for player development.

Players will not be required to pay to participate, helping to remove barriers for talented young girls and creating more opportunities to play.

Further investment by the club to support progression through the pathway includes an Under-18s Trust side playing in the Junior Premier League, alongside expanded Emerging Talent Centre provision at Under-10s and Under-12s level.

Alongside these developments, Brentford Women will play their home fixtures at Uxbridge Football Club from the 2026/27 season.

Uxbridge Football Club was founded in 1871 and remains one of the oldest clubs in England. Their home ground, Honeycroft, has a capacity of 3,770 and is located at Horton Road, West Drayton, Middlesex, UB7 8HX.

Honeycroft has recently undergone significant redevelopment, including the installation of a state-of-the-art 3G pitch and a range of high-quality facilities. We look forward to making it our home for the women’s team from next season and welcoming our supporters to the venue.

As part of this overall programme for women and girls’ football, Brentford Women will move away from their current B-team structure ahead of the 2026/27 season. This reflects the club’s long-term focus on creating a clearer and more effective route into senior football for talented young players in the local area.

This new structure represents an important evolution in the club’s approach, focused on increasing access, raising standards, and building a long-term development plan through the women's football pyramid.
