The 24-year-old will join Brighton on July 1st once her contract with Paris FC expires.

During the 2024-25 season, Brighton’s current goalkeepers Sophie Baggaley and Melina Loeck both played 14 games.

Brighton boss Dario Vidosic though hopes that Nnadozie will bring ‘consistency and confidence’ to the club’s defensive line.

The Nigerian goalkeeper said: “It feels so great I am really excited to be joining this great club. Right from the beginning when I heard the name of the club, I was so interested and I’m happy to be here.”

Meanwhile, Vidosic added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.

“She has competed at the highest level, with valuable experience in a variety of cup competitions including the Champions League.

“We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”

Who is Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie?

Brighton Women goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has extensive European and international football experience.

The 24-year-old has represented her country 55 times since making her senior debut in 2018. She represented her country during the 2023 World Cup.

She also has experience in the Women’s Champions League, with 16 European appearances for Paris FC.

Nnadozie joined Paris FC from Nigerian side Rivers Angels in January 2020. She made 118 appearances for the French club.

Her best performance came in the 2025 Coupe de France Feminine final, where she saved two penalties against Paris Saint-Germain to help her club win the trophy.

She was named as the French league’s goalkeeper of the year in 2024. During her time with River Angels, she also won three Nigerian Cups.

How did Brighton Women perform in 2024-25?

Brighton Women finished a respectable fifth in the Women’s Super League during the 2024-25 season.

The Seagulls topped a close mid-table pack in the league, with just five points separating Brighton in fifth and West Ham in ninth.

Brighton were leaky in defence conceding 41 goals in 22 games. Only Aston Villa (44), Tottenham (44) and relegated Crystal Palace (65) conceded more goals in the English women’s top-flight last season.

Manager Mario Vidosic clearly hopes that bringing in Chiamaka Nnadozie will bring some consistency at the back during the upcoming 2025-26 WSL season.
