Bristol Rovers are exploring all options with regards to a brand new stadium
Bristol Rovers endured an underwhelming first season down in League Two after they suffered relegation in 2025.
The Gas finished 14th in the table, missing out on a play-off place by 16 points as they failed to compete for a top seven finish.
A strong end to the campaign gave supporters some reason for optimism going into the summer, but it’s clear that work is needed in order to bridge the gap to the top teams in the division.
Steve Evans was appointed manager in December, and he oversaw eight wins from their final nine fixtures, which saw them climb the fourth tier table.
The club will now be planning for the summer transfer window, as they look to build a squad capable of carrying that momentum into the next campaign.
Rovers will be targeting a promotion push in 2027, as they look to make a return to League One.

Bristol Rovers’ owner Hussain AlSaeed has claimed the club are more likely to develop a new stadium instead of expanding the Memorial Ground, which has been their home since 1996.
He revealed that too many red flags emerged from any studies done into how to improve and increase the capacity of their current ground, although no final decision has yet been made on which step to take.
"It [moving] would be most likely that the option that we are considering at the moment because of all the red flags that we had in the Memorial - the location, all that - it makes it extremely difficult to redevelop," said AlSaeed, via the BBC.
"We're looking and there are more targets and we are cooperating with the local investors, local developers to guide us through that.
“There is a few options available and we're evaluating those options.
"Our fans have been misled in the past regarding the new stadium and regarding where they're going to live so I'm not going to say that until I have concrete plans."
It’s been claimed that more than £400,000 has been spent by Bristol Rovers in their process of determining the next step with their stadium.
AlSaeed initially proposed a move to a new stadium at the Fruit Market site, but that ultimately failed to come to fruition.
It’s understood that the locations now being scouted for a new stadium are brand new, but no confirmation has been given on where the development could be.
It remains to be seen when an official decision will be made by the League Two side regarding their stadium options, as they look to go through a thorough investigation process in order to exhaust all possibilities.
In the meantime, Evans will be looking to shape the first team squad for the campaign ahead as the club targets a promotion push.
An eight-game winning streak in the final weeks of the season highlighted the team’s potential under the 63-year-old.
The Bristol outfit ended the term with 62 points from 46 games, leaving them in the bottom half of the table.
Results on the pitch this season were quite disappointing, despite the positive final few weeks, so supporters will be glad to see the owner is putting his money where his mouth is in regards to investing in their infrastructure.
Developing a brand new stadium is a big undertaking, so it’s no surprise that the club are exhausting all options before coming to a final decision.
With the strong end to the campaign, and this update on a potential new home, there are reasons to be optimistic about a brighter future for Bristol Rovers.
But fans will still want tangible progress, and that might have to begin with investing in the first team over the summer in order to aid a promotion bid next season.
