Telstar beat NEC Nijmegen 2-1 at Goffertstadion, launching their Eredivisie season with an early blitz that puts them second after matchday one.

Patrick Brouwer netted in the first minute, turning in Abdelnour Soualhia's header, before Rui Mendes doubled the lead (24.).

Goalkeeper Ronald Koeman kept Telstar in front with sharp stops, denying Tjaronn Chery early on and tipping Bryan Linssen's header over in second half stoppage time.

After the restart, substitute Kaj Sierhuis halved the deficit (82.), finishing from Dušan Tadić's pass. The summer arrival registered his first goal for NEC Nijmegen. Moments earlier, Sierhuis had crashed a header off the bar (75.).
