Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been helping Matheus Cunha handle the pressure of playing for the club, according to the Sun.
The Brazilian joined Man United from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer and opened his account for the Old club during the 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion last Saturday.
It took nine games for Cunha to deliver his first goal contribution as a Red Devils player, and Fernandes would be proud of him.
Both players have been spending hours doing extra sessions, working on free-kicks and set-pieces.
Cunha has improved his emotional control and confidence, especially during recent frustrations with injury.
He picked up a knock in August and has only recently returned to full fitness, impressing in the last three Premier League victories for the Red Devils.
Man United staff reportedly had been warned that Cunha could be prickly to deal with and that he had a tendency to turn on the charm in public.
However, dealings with him by those at the club have been almost purely positive.
They also believe his ball retention and ability to advance have relieved pressure on Fernandes, and it is safe to say their connection is starting to pay off after hours of training together.
Man United return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest, and they will fancy their chances of securing a fourth straight victory.
Cunha will be looking forward to getting involved in the goals again, and Fernandes will be more than ready to keep helping him on and off the pitch.
The Red Devils signed him because he proved himself in the final third at Wolves, and they will hope he can finally start firing on all cylinders over the rest of the season.
