Bruno Genesio named Marseille head coach on two-year deal after Habib Beye departure | OneFootball

Bruno Genesio has been confirmed as Olympique de Marseille head coach on a two-year contract, the announcement coming a day after Habib Beye’s departure.

The club said in a statement that his experience in France and Europe, his understanding of the game and his daily standards made him the right choice to lead the first team.

With the threat of Europa League exclusion having faded, the path cleared for the Lyon-born coach. The former LOSC boss arrives off a strong season, having guided the Dogues to third in Ligue 1.

Marseille were also persuaded by his alignment with the club’s project, his wish to build over the long term and his enthusiasm to join.

Genesio’s first training session in charge is scheduled for 6 July.
