Burnley have parted company with Scott Parker by mutual consent on the eve of Friday’s trip to Leeds United. The club said in a statement that discussions with the board concluded his time at Turf Moor.

Assistant Mike Jackson will take interim charge at Elland Road and for the remaining four Premier League fixtures, with the search for a permanent head coach for 2026/27 under way.

Burnley’s return to the Championship was sealed by a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City last week. Leeds know a win would virtually guarantee their Premier League safety.

Parker oversaw a record-breaking 2024/25 campaign, winning promotion with 100 points, a 31-match unbeaten run and 30 clean sheets, though they finished behind Leeds on goal difference. This season he won only four of 34 Premier League matches, including victory over Farke’s side in October.

Friday will be the second straight game in which Leeds face an interim manager. Chelsea sacked Liam Rosenior after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton before the FA Cup semi-final, with Calum McFarlane stepping in to oversee a 1-0 Wembley win. Earlier this month they beat Manchester United 2-1 against temporary boss Michael Carrick.
