Thomas Bramall will referee Leeds United’s Premier League match against Burnley at Elland Road on Friday, the Premier League have confirmed.
Leeds refocus on survival after a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on Sunday. Daniel Farke’s side are six points above 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur with four games remaining.
Burnley, Friday evening’s visitors, had relegation confirmed by a 1-0 home loss to Manchester City last week, joining Wolves in dropping to the Championship. They beat Leeds 2-0 in October.
Bramall will be assisted by Constantine Hatzidakis and Craig Taylor, with Adam Herczeg the fourth official and Tim Wood on VAR.
He has handled 20 Premier League fixtures this season, averaging 21.6 fouls and four yellow cards per game. This will be his fourth top-flight Leeds assignment.
His most recent came in last month’s 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace, where he sent off Gabriel Gudmundsson in first-half stoppage time after two cautions, including one for a foul on Ismaila Sarr near halfway. Players and fourth official Paul Tierney drew attention to the earlier booking before the red followed.
A subsequent review found the second booking should not have stood. Reduced to 10 men, Leeds dug in after the break and secured a point.
Afterwards, Farke argued the dismissal lacked justification, said there was neither real pace nor a tactical element in the challenge, noted confusion around the decision and welcomed leaving Selhurst Park with a point.
