Burnley have parted company with Scott Parker on the eve of Friday’s trip to Leeds United.

The club said in a statement that Parker left by mutual consent after last week’s relegation. Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the final four Premier League games, starting at Elland Road, and the search for a permanent head coach for 2026/27 is under way.

Their relegation was sealed by a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City last week.

Parker led the Clarets back to the top flight last season, amassing 100 points but missing the title to Leeds on goal difference. He then won just four of 34 Premier League matches, one of them against Daniel Farke’s side in October.

A Leeds win would virtually guarantee their safety. Friday will also be the second game in a row in which they face an interim coach.

Earlier this month they beat Manchester United 2-1 against temporary boss Michael Carrick. Chelsea then dismissed Liam Rosenior last Wednesday after a 3-0 loss at Brighton, before Calum McFarlane oversaw a 1-0 Wembley win over a below-par Leeds on Sunday.
