Can Uzun named Eintracht Frankfurt player of the season | OneFootball

According to BuLi News, Can Uzun has been named Eintracht Frankfurt’s player of the season for 2025/26 after receiving six votes, having delivered eight goals and four assists.

Eintracht finished eighth in the Bundesliga, three points off European qualification, with an 11-12-12 record, 44 points and a -4 goal difference.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is in his second season since joining from 1. FC Nürnberg. The Turkish international will be at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He ranked second at Frankfurt for goal involvements, producing eight goals and four assists in 21 appearances, behind Jonathan Burkardt’s 13 goals and one assist in 22.

Uzun attempted 41 shots, level for first with Burkardt and Ritsu Dōan, and hit 19 on target, second to Burkardt’s 21. With eight goals, his conversion rate was just over 19.5%. He drew 26 fouls, third in the squad behind Dōan with 35 and Nathaniel Brown with 33.

His standout display came in the 6-4 win at Borussia-Park against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 27 September. He scored after a sharp exchange with Farès Chaïbi on the left before sliding the ball past Moritz Nicolas. He also threaded a through-ball for Burkardt to finish under pressure from Nico Elvedi and the advancing Nicolas.

That day he registered four shots, drew four fouls, completed 56 passes and made five recoveries, impressing across 90 minutes in Dino Toppmöller’s 4-5-1. Robin Koch took Man of the Match.

Honourable mention went to Nathaniel Brown, who received four votes. He was third for long deliveries and crosses into the box with 45, behind Dōan with 111 and Chaïbi with 91. The left-back produced four goals and four assists in 33 games, was fifth in the squad for goals overall, and will represent Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
