Grêmio are working to resolve Carlos Vinicius’s future in this window, with his camp turning down América of Mexico’s proposal and keeping renewal talks the priority, according to Gremistas.net. The striker’s deal runs only until December.
América tabled a package worth six million dollars a year, potentially rising to seven million dollars if sporting targets were met. At current rates that equated to R$ 31.2 million, or R$ 36.4 million with bonuses. The monthly salary proposed was R$ two point six million.
Even so, the offer did not convince the player. There is optimism on both sides for his stay. If negotiations end well, the number 95 could extend his deal until December 2028.
The main hurdle is settling pending financial issues with his agent. The club is late in paying the commission from his signing in July 2025. Meaningful progress is expected only once that matter is resolved.
Grêmio want to reduce the wage bill and avoid salaries beyond the club’s reality, yet consider Carlos Vinicius an exception. For his performances, leadership and importance to the project, they see his continued presence as essential.
