Real Madrid will welcome Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this Saturday as they look to secure a positive result at home in La Liga. Los Blancos suffered a tough 4-3 loss away at Bayern Munich recently, so they would be desperate to get back to winning ways in midweek.

Alvaro Arbeloa will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first team for this game. Both Alvaro Carreras and Aurelien Tchouameni could play from the start of this clash.

Defence

Andriy Lunin will operate in between the sticks for Los Blancos after conceding four goals in his last outing. Antonio Rudiger will play alongside Eder Militao at the heart of Arbeloa’s defence as they focus on keeping a solid shape at the back during the 90 minutes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will try to impress as the right-back, while Alvaro Carreras hopes to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Ferland Mendy and David Alaba will be named on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Aurelian Tchouameni and Federico Valverde will anchor the midfield for Los Blancos as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler will play just ahead of them as part of the Real Madrid attack. All three of them need to be at their best if Los Blancos are to secure a convincing win in midweek.

Thiago Pitarch Pinar, Franco Mastantuono and Dani Ceballos will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Kylian Mbappe will lead the line for Los Blancos in the final third. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet versus Alaves this week.

Gonzalo Garcia will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game if Los Blancos are in need of a goal by then.
