Casparij and Shaw up for WSL Player of the Season | OneFootball

Kerstin Casparij and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw have been shortlisted for the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Season award.

The duo’s standout performances have been central to City being crowned WSL champions, sealed with a game to spare following Arsenal’s draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Casparij has become only the third defender in WSL history to hit double figures for goal involvements in a season, with her seven assists also the most in the top flight.

She’s also grabbed goals against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and against Manchester United in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford in March 2026.

Shaw, meanwhile, is on course to win a record third successive WSL Golden Boot, with 19 goals in her 21 appearances this season.

The Jamaican is averaging a goal every 98 minutes she’s been on the field this season, and also has four assists to her name in another stellar campaign.

Casparij and Shaw are up for the award alongside Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson, Spurs’ Olivia Holdt, Everton’s Ruby Mace, Manchester United’s Jess Park, Arsenal’s Alessia Russo and Chelsea’s Alyssa Thompson.

Voting closes at 17:00 (UK) on Wednesday 13 May, with the winner announced at the WSL Awards evening on Monday 18 May.
