Castellón completes 60,737.80 euros LED upgrade at Gaetà Huguet football pitch | OneFootball

Castellón’s city council has completed an LED overhaul of the four floodlight towers at the Gaetà Huguet municipal football pitch, a project costing 60,737.80 euros.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the work sits within the Plan Director to upgrade municipal sports venues, leaving Gaetà Huguet as the city’s second best-lit football ground, behind Estadio Castalia.

Sports councillor Maica Hurtado said the renewal will cut electricity consumption and improve conditions for clubs and athletes. The new lights will benefit regular users and CD Castellón’s reserve team, which will return to play 2026-2027 Segunda Federación matches at Gaetà Huguet.

Hurtado added that the project reflects the administration’s commitment to continual improvement of municipal sports facilities and to raising Castellón’s profile through sport.

Replacing the old luminaires delivers an average illumination of 309 lux, with a maximum of 416 and a minimum of 223, providing more uniform, efficient lighting to enhance visibility for training and competitions.
