According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, CD Castellón head to La Rosaleda on alert after violent disturbances before Almería v Málaga last Sunday, which left one supporter in hospital.

The National Police detained five people near the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos before Almería hosted Málaga, four linked to Málaga’s ultra following and one to UD Almería. The fixture had been classed high risk, with additional Unidad de Intervención Policial personnel and air support deployed.

Authorities had pre-identified high-risk individuals, which enabled swift action and arrests. It is expected that the case files will be processed this week before the five are brought before a judge.

The flashpoint came by the South Stand roundabout during team bus arrivals. Footage from the scene shows UIP officers restraining on the ground a young man who resisted.

Police formed a security perimeter and used batons to keep back a hostile crowd that insulted officers. Private security also intervened amid smoke from flares or other pyrotechnics.

Fans from both clubs became intermingled, and a festive mood quickly gave way to clashes and panic. People fled as bottles, plastic containers and stones were thrown. The detained UD Almería supporter lost consciousness and was taken by ambulance to hospital.
