CD Castellón are reshaping Estadio SkyFi Castalia this summer, reorganising spaces that will rehouse some season-ticket holders and relocating the away section. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the works also tie into UCO compliance and hospitality upgrades.
In recent days the club has phoned several season-ticket holders to move them to available seats. The grada visitante shifts from Preferencia Alta to Gol Norte Alto, at the corner with Preferencia, as part of the UCO (Unidad de Control Organizativo). The switch frees seats for potential new season-ticket holders, though recent seasons have seen season tickets sell out and a Carnet Albinegre waiting list remains.
The grada de animación in Gol Sur Bajo is being expanded, prompting further seat moves. Fondo 1922, which manages that section, has opened its renewal window.
Opened in 1987, SkyFi Castalia has been adapted in recent years to professional football rules and to optimise space under a long-term agreement with the City Council. Access, safety and the matchday experience have been improved, video scoreboard included.
This summer’s main upgrade concerns the UCO, with new surveillance cameras and a dedicated security room, plus work on the dressing rooms and gym. A new VIP area in Tribuna Alta will also see some press desks moved.
Because of the construction, Castellón have formally asked LaLiga to start the season away from home. It is not yet clear whether they will play the first two matchdays or only one away, with the final Segunda fixture list due on 30 June.
