Hatate was sidelined for the last two matches of last season due to injury sustained late on at Pittodrie, and according to reports it seemed like Carter-Vickers was facing a potential period out of action.
Rodgers clarified any lingering doubts regarding both Hatate and CCV’s injury status. Speaking via Scottish Sun, he said: “Cam had some issues around the end of last season.”
“But we decided this was really important for him and he needed that to get the operation. We knew then the recovery time would mean he’d miss a week.”

“But he’s back working again and, hopefully, [will]be ready for the next few weeks. With Reo, was just a shame for him. He’s had a few extra few days but he’ll come back in and he’ll be fine.”
Rodgers also outlined that Hoops legend James Forrest is available for selection and will make the trip to Ireland for tomorrow’s pre-season clash with Cork City.
However, the Celtic boss admitted that Tuesday night’s game at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh will come too soon for Benjamin Nygren and Kieran Tierney.

He said: “We will train and travel on Monday. The guys who have just come back probably won’t be involved in the Tuesday game, it’s just too soon.
“But they will be involved next Saturday when we play in Portugal but they will all be there and ready for the game.”
Rodgers added: “It’s always a privilege to take Celtic anywhere. To go to Ireland with Celtic is always really special. We look forward to seeing our friends over there and having a really good game.”
The update follows Celtic’s 1–0 victory over Queen’s Park on Friday, where a first-half goal from Johnny Kenny secured the win in their first pre-season encounter of the 2025/26 campaign for the Scottish champions.
