“Celtic Park was a no brainer” says Noel as Oasis confirm blockbuster tour | OneFootball

Celtic Park will provide the opening stage for one of the biggest music tours on the planet next summer after Oasis confirmed five nights at Paradise…

In an eagerly anticipated update, Oasis confirmed they were back next year after last summer’s incredible reunion tour.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will begin their Live ’27 world tour in Glasgow’s East End, playing Celtic Park on May 21, 23, 25, 28 and 29 before moving on to Manchester and some of Europe and America’s most famous venues.

Speaking to TalkSport, Oasis songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher referred to Celtic Park as being a “no brainer” for the band. The Mancunian band are proud of their Irish heritage and both Gallagher brothers have spoken warmly about Celtic in the past.

More than three decades have passed since Celtic Park last staged a major concert, but Oasis will bring that lengthy wait to an emphatic conclusion. In a statement released by Celtic, the Scottish Champions confirmed the dates while emphasising that they were thrilled to have been chosen to host the gigs.

“Celtic Football Club is delighted to confirm that Celtic Park has been chosen to host the opening five nights of Oasis’ Live ‘27 world tour.

“As announced by the band earlier today, Paradise will be the first stop on the tour, kicking off on Friday, May 21, 2027, followed by shows on May 23, 25, 28 and 29.

“Last year saw Oasis reform after 16 years apart, with the band going on to sell shows across the globe, performing to more than two million fans over the course of their Live ‘25 tour, which included three dates in Scotland.

“It has been more than 30 years since Celtic Park last hosted a major concert, and following their emotional and hotly-anticipated reunion last year, the news that Liam and Noel will be performing live in Glasgow’s East End next May is thrilling for music fans.

“These shows also present an opportunity to showcase Celtic Park in a totally different way, and we are sure that the iconic atmosphere our stadium is famous for worldwide will contribute to making these dates some of the most in-demand that Scotland has ever seen.

“Everyone at the Club is thrilled at the prospect of hosting Oasis next year at the start of what is set to be another history-making tour.

The significance is considerable with Celtic hosting the kickoff with five dates, potentially bookmarking a Scottish Cup Final. A 38-date world tour featuring venues including the Etihad Stadium, Stade de France, Stadio Olimpico, Slane Castle and Knebworth will begin at the home of the Scottish Champions.

For five nights next May, Paradise host one of the most hotly anticipated gigs in recent times with Celtic Park offering another commercial opportunity to the club.
