Queens Park Rangers beat Portsmouth 3-1 at Fratton Park as Ilias Chair's double sent the visitors top on the opening weekend of the Championship.
In the 15th minute, Terry Devlin drilled in from outside the box after Ebou Adams recycled a set piece to put Portsmouth ahead.
Earlier, Boy Kemper was forced off for Kealey Adamson (20.). Chair levelled from close range after Harvey Vale's pass (33.). Koki Saito then finished a fast break from Chair's through ball (40.), before Chair struck again in the second minute of first half stoppage time from Amadou Mbengue's cross.
After the restart, Portsmouth introduced 17-year-old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and pushed on, but goalkeeper Pierce Charles made five saves to frustrate them. Saito later departed injured, with Paul Smyth on (58.).
Portsmouth had 54% possession and 16 attempts. The visitors produced 13 attempts with six on target.
Next, Portsmouth visit Lincoln City. Queens Park Rangers host Bolton Wanderers.
